Mission Status: Current
The Air National Guard will lead a joint civil-military medical mission, partnered with the Kodiak Area Native Association, supported by the Army Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Navy Active, Navy Reserve, Air Force Active, and Air Force Reserve. This collaborative medical mission will provide no-cost healthcare services to six remote Alaskan villages of Akhiok, Karluk, Larsen Bay, Old Harbor, Ouzinkie, Port Lions, and Kodiak City. Service members will receive required mission planning, logistical, transport and medical training by providing and supporting healthcare procedures, including medical, nutrition, behavioral health, podiatry, physical therapy, dental, optometry, and veterinary services.

Qawalangin CA Assessment

The Army Reserve will partner with the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska to conduct a needs assessment involving civil survey assessments and program management services for existing social, economic, governmental, environmental, infrastructure systems, and other entities with the community for vulnerabilities to identify potential future improvements. Soldiers will receive training in core competencies including civil engagement, civil reconnaissance, and civil information management.

Shepard Point Marine Tribal Transportation and Oil Spill Response Facility (MTT & OSRF)

The Army National Guard will partner with the Eyak Native Village to construct access roads and port facilities. Service members will receive real-world training in horizontal construction including engineer equipment support, equipment maintenance, earthwork, roadway construction, and not bride erection. The local community will benefit through mitigation of the current lack of safe and accessible transportation facilities to service Tribal Lands.
